Many men don't have a good relationship with their father's and I understand that. I don't get along with mine all the time but if want to do something for him that is a little different this year then check out this article for some good suggestions. Baseball Game
Nothing says father-son bonding like taking in a baseball game together. Get a couple hot dogs and a couple beers if you are so inclined and spend the day at the ball game. Teams usually have special days set-up where you can get some free memorabilia, especially on fathers day. They may also have some activity planned before the game. If they don't, pick up a souvenir like a program or a hat to commemorate the day.
Fishing Trip
If you and your father are the outdoors-men type a fishing trip is a great way to spend the day together. All the better if you actually catch something of course. You could fish from shore or better yet, rent a boat. Boat rentals are relatively inexpensive these days. Ask the rental place or a local where the best spots are and hit them up.
Plan a Barbecue
What father doesn't love to barbecue? Go to the local deli or butcher and get some steaks, potato salad and maybe some garlic bread while you're at it and have a barbecue. Take turns at the grill, crack a beer for each other and have fun.
Go to the Casino
If you happen to have a Casino close by that preferably has table games like blackjack, take 50-100 dollars and play on a table together. Casinos can be great fun if you limit the amount of money you gamble with and quit while you're ahead.
Gifts
Maybe you are really busy or just don't feel like bonding too much with your father and are just looking to give him a couple gifts. Well, there are some solid gifts that are hard to go wrong with, here is a quick list.
Wallet - Leather, Brown or Black
Cologne - Lots of good colognes out there. Ask your mother or another female what her favourite is.
