What Should You Have on Hand in Your Vehicle
Have you ever been stuck looking for something and start digging through the glove box of your vehicle hoping you have it? Well, you should have a number of items already in your vehicle just in case a situation arises. For some men its trial and error, once you are stuck without something you decide you will always have it from now on. If you don't want to go through the error than check out this list and stock your car with essentials.
Napkins/Paper Towels/Kleenex
Clean up grease and stains. Blow your nose if you cant make a stop and for "emergencies" to clean yourself if you cant find a gas station. Pro tip: Save unused napkins from fast food restaurants.
Cheap Cologne or Body Spray
This is one of the better uses for body spray. If you find yourself having to meet a woman or other people or are running late and forgot the deodorant. Grab the cheap stuff you have stored away and give yourself a couple spritzes.
Hand Sanitizer
Has multiple uses. Cleans dirt and grease. Use in place of soap. Sanitize cuts and other wounds. If you are sweaty and not feeling so fresh, put some in your armpits to kill bacteria.
Plastic Bag
Just use a regular old shopping bag. This also has multiple uses. Clean up garbage. Hold greasy car parts so they don't stain your upholstery. Obviously, if you need to carry multiple items that's what its made for.
Fuses
Fuses blow on cars all the time, that's their purpose. Every man should have a small selection of fuses at all times. One blown fuse can disable your entire vehicle. Don't be the guy that gets a tow truck for a blown fuse.
Basic Hand Tools
Get a small toolbox fill it with some basic tools and throw it in your trunk. This is a "no-brainer" for guys to keep in their vehicles. Screwdrivers, adjustable wrench, socket wrench, duck tape, super glue, etc. Pro tip: The most common nut size on a vehicle is 10mm and 12mm, include those sockets.
Pen
If you need to write down some information, don't bother fumbling around with your phone to bring up a certain application. People are always looking for pens. Takes up almost no room at all and will always have a use.
Flashlight
Again, this is a no-brainer to have on hand. Perfect if you need to look under your car, in the engine bay or under the seats. You can even buy small LED flashlights at "dollar stores."
Jumper Cables
The reason is clear. Save on a tow truck bill. Basic jumper cables are cheap so there is no excuse.
Emergency Money
Everyone usually has spare change on hand but its never a bad idea to have something a little bigger in case of an emergency. Put a $20 bill in a small tin and put it in the glove box. Pro tip: Save empty breath mint tins, they have a million uses including this one.
Final Words
If you want, you can keep 50 different items in your vehicle but these 10 should be your basic 10 to get you started. They are highly useful, cheap and easy to find.
