Lets face it, winters in Canada suck. If you don't have any winter hobbies then you are just counting the days for spring when the weather breaks and you can go outside without heavy gear. or me I am waiting for that show to melt and the sun to come out because I love the outdoors. Hiking, fishing, camping, bird watching, even picking wild mushrooms.
Today was a beautiful day. Sunny, warm, cool breeze and clear skies. Perfect day to go for a hike. I went the Greenwood Conservation Area in North Ajax, Ontario. This place is huge. Lots of trails to pick from beginner to advanced and has a creek running through it. Trout and Salmon run up the creek every year as well.
I actually had a family function but it was getting boring and I wanted to take advantage of the day so I slipped out. Wasnt prepared too well, all I had with me was a bottle of water and my phone. It was good exercise and I spotted some trout in the creek. Sadly the bluff I was on overlooking the creek was about sixty feet up so I couldnt get a picture of them. Anyway I just wanted to get the juices flowing this year and hopefully anyone reading will get inspired to get out there and enjoy the outdoors.
Apparently it was a very active Woodpecker area too.
